Te Ahu Parore was the son of Parore Te Āwhā. His father signed the 1835 Declaration of Independence on 25 June 1837. It is possible that Te Ahu Parore signed the Treaty of Waitangi on behalf of his father. He probably signed it in the Bay of Islands on an unknown date in 1840.
