Freyberg Place

Freyberg Place is named in honour of Lord Freyberg (1889-1963) who served as Commander of 2nd NZEF between 1939-1945. He then went on to become the Govenor General of New Zealand, 1946-1952. The memorial statue and plaque were donated by Returned Servicemen.
