Greys Avenue flats

Although some notable inner-city apartment blocks were built in the 1940s – including these flats in Greys Avenue, Auckland – the main thrust of the first Labour government's state housing programme was directed towards the construction of single-unit suburban homes, which were considered more suitable for families.
