Elizabeth King was my Grandmother. Born in Yorkshire to a Quaker family she was the eldest of five children. The family immigrated to Napier New Zealand when she was about 17 years old. . Having been a boarder at a Quaker School in Yorkshire Elizabeth continued her education and later became an infant teacher at Norsewood School in the 1890s She became the President of the local Temperance Union Temperance and helped organize the petition for votes for women. She later married Leonhard Andersen and remained in Norsewood .
