Have to amend the last comment. Nopera Rangiuia was the grandfather of Arapeta Rangiuia. He was the son of Ngarangimatatauira and Parekituterangi; the last tohunga of Te Whare Wananga o Te Rawheoro.

Nopera was the oldest son of Arapeta and Hana (nee Espie) Rangiuia. Through his father he was a great grandson of Te Rangiuia, the last Tohunga of Te Whare Wananga o Te Rawheoro. Through his mother he descended from the senior lineages of Te Whanau a Te Aotawarirangi, Waima.
