THANK YOU FOR YOUR VALUABLE WORK
Several crashes missing that I know of (so likely also others that I don't know of):
20 August 1946, Manawatu Gorge – Two engine crew presumed drowned when a goods train derailed by a slip and fell into the Manawatu river. The body of the driver was recovered from Foxton Beach; the body of the fireman was never found (actually WAS found near Ashhurst Bridge a few days later). Also others: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rail_accidents_in_New_Zealand
9 June 1995, the de Havilland Canada Dash 8 aircraft Ansett New Zealand Flight 703 crashed near Ashhurst while coming into Palmerston North airport. 1 crewmember and 3 passengers killed.

The Hydrabad was an iron cargo and passenger sailing ship, built in Scotland and launched in 1865. she became caught in a severe storm on 24 June 1878.[2] Her captain, a man named Holmwood, ran the ship aground on Waitarere Beach five kilometres south of the mouth of the Manawatu River.
This wreck may not qualify here as no lives were lost.
