"Margaret Giesen was the Feilding delegate for the Women’s Christian Temperance Union .
Margaret Giesen and her husband, Edward, were friends and near neighbours of the Stewart/Dalrymple household. Mrs Giesen was a leading light in the Feilding WCTU from the outset, attending the national annual convention as Feilding delegate in April 1893, and later that year, when Learmonth Dalrymple was busy with her superintendent duties, stepping in as acting president of the branch.
