Anna Sophia Magdalene Lampp was born about 1849 in Germany. She arrived in Nelson with her parents and four siblings in 1859 on the Mariner.
In 1866 she married Ludwig Johann Christian Windelborn, a fellow German who had arrived in Nelson in 1844. The couple had eight children, the youngest was just 1-month-old when Ludwig died in 1883. In the late 1870’s the had family moved to the Rangitikei District in the North Island.
In 1885 Anna married Henry Czepanski a widower with four children. They had a further two children together.
Anna died on 23 June 1916 at her step-son’s house at Crofton near Marton in the Rangitikei District. Heinrich died in 1940 and is buried with Anna in the Marton Lutheran Cemetery.
