Farming locality near the eastern shore of the Kaipara Harbour, 17km north of Kaukapakapa.
Meaning of place name
Called Glorat after his home village in Scotland by John Gardner, who arrived in New Zealand in 1861 and purchased about 2000 ha of land here. In time the name was misspelt Glorit.
