Farming settlement on the east bank of the Heriot Burn, 13km north of Tapanui, South Otago.
Meaning of place name
Apparently it was first spelt Herriot, and named after a surveyor, Samuel Herriot or after the mother-in-law of John McKellar, the first Mayor of Tapanui.
