Farming locality on the Oroua River, just north of the confluence with the Manawatū River, 12 south-east if Himatangi. Site of Te Rangimarie marae, built in 1858 to commemorate peace between the Ngāti Raukawa and Rangitāne peoples.

Meaning of place name
For many years known as Oroua Bridge, but officially renamed Rangiotu in honour of the local Rangitane chief Hoani Meihana Te Rangiotu.
