Bideford war memorial

Detail Detail

Bideford war memorial consists of a stone wall and flagpole and lists the names of those from the local school who served in the First and Second World Wars.

A poignant aspect of the memorial is that the soldiers who were killed in the wars (indicated on the memorial) appear to be from one family - Norman Edgar Carswell and George Alexander Carswell in the First World War and Norman Alexander Carswell in the Second World War.
