Department of Lands and Survey roll of honour

A number of departments included rolls of honour in their annual reports that were printed in the Appendix to the Journals of the House of Representatives as well as contributing to the public service commissioner’s consolidated list published in the New Zealand Gazette. In 1920, the Department of Lands and Survey prepared a detailed roll of honour giving the names, positions and service details of more than 180 officers who had ‘answered the call of duty’. The names of those who had died appeared in bold.
