There is a set of war memorial gates outside Hinepare Marae, Rangitukia. The rolls of honour are inscribed on red granite tablets set into the two central pillars. They list 16 men who gave their lives during the Second World War and another 32 who also served.

Two brass plaques with a further 23 names are attached to the flanking pillars. These were installed sometime after 1962. They list mostly Second World War servicemen, but also include Sergeant George Nepia (son of the famous Māori All Black), who was killed in an accident on 18 November 1954, while on active service in Malaya.
