Maori meeting at European house, 1840s

A group of 14 Māori men and women in conference on the verandah of an unidentified European house (possibly Waimate Mission House).

Painting by Thomas Biddulph Hutton who arrived in New Zealand in 1843 and taught at St John's College at Waimate in the Bay of Islands until 1844 when he moved to Auckland.
