On 24 April 2015 the Ministry of Education held a special Anzac Day service at its head office in St Paul’s Square, Wellington. During the service, Secretary for Education Peter Hughes (pictured) and others laid wreaths at the Education Department’s First World War roll of honour board. The ministry also launched an exhibition (pictured below) featuring an overview of education during the First World War and biographies of the 43 men and one woman from the department who are named on the board. There were also services at Ministry of Education regional offices.
