Ngunguru War Memorial Hall

Ngunguru War Memorial Hall

Roll of Honour

The old Ngunguru community hall was destroyed by fire in November 1950. It was rebuilt with voluntary labour within six weeks, and was reopened as the Ngunguru Memorial Hall on 21 December 1950. The roll of honour displayed in the foyer lists 16 names from the First World War (two deaths) and 20 from the Second World War (three deaths).

I remember this hall so much in my childhood.
They used to hold movies nights there. We would see the world newsreel before the movie, then at half time they always played Billy Vaughn and his orchestra music, and then the movie.
So loved those family times going to the movies at Ngunguru Hall.:)
