Pukeoware roll of honour

Memorial MemorialMemorial

The Pukeoware roll of honour was presented to the community by Mrs Florence Bischoff-Madden (formerly Mrs Bischoff-Barriball) in memory of her son, Pilot Officer Malcolm Eber Palmer Barriball, who had been shot down over France on 13 March 1944. The roll of honour includes the names of ten servicemen from the First World War and thirteen from the Second World War. It is accompanied by a commemorative brass plaque honouring Pilot Officer Barriball.

The roll of honour originally hung in the old Pukeoware Hall, but was installed in its replacement, the Pukeoware Community Hall, when this was opened in 2006.
