NZ Medical Corps soldiers under Red Cross flag

Ragtime army: New Zealand Medical Corps soldiers in various states of dress at Gallipoli, 1915. This photograph was taken above North Beach, the location of today's Anzac commemorative site. In the background is The Sphinx, with the main track to Walker's Ridge directly behind the men.

The men's names are listed as: [Daniel?] Hickey, [James?] Jackson, Barbour, Brown, Wilson, [Francis?] Eagle, and [John?] Austin.

I don’t know if this is the right way to investigate, but the man on the far right - Austin? - bears, in my opinion, a strong resemblance to my husband. I would be interested in finding out more to see if there is a familial link. I originally came across the photo at the museum in Wellington and took a photo. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

The James Jackson mentioned as two along was probably the man who sent the picture of Simpson and his donkey back to NZ. Is the man beside his Dick Henderson - there is a look of him about the man
