Visiting a South African grave

Visiting a South African grave

A South African nurse places a wreath on the grave of her brother, Private D.B.H. Fynn of the 3rd South African Infantry Regiment, at Delville Wood, 17 February 1918. It was here that the South African Brigade suffered 2300 casualties out of 3153 officers during the Somme offensive, July-August 1916.
