The Waitawheta War Memorial Hall was opened on the corner of Waitawheta and Franklin Roads in 1953. In July 1999 it was moved to the nearby Waitawheta Outdoor Recreation & Adventure Camp. The hall contains the district’s First World War and Second World War rolls of honour.
