Soviet legation in Wellington

The Soviet legation (now the embassy of the Russian Federation in New Zealand) at 57 Messines Rd, Wellington, photographed in 1951. Two members of the legation staff were expelled for spying in 1962, and ambassador Vsevelod Sofinsky was ordered home in 1980 after being caught delivering money to the Socialist Unity Party.
