Agnes Allan was born about 1836, she married John Boyd, a carrier, in Tapanui, South Otago on 26 July 1866.

They had six children - in 1877 two of Agnes and John’s daughters died of typhoid fever, Agnes was also sick for some time with the same illness.

Agnes and John lived in Tapanui  for the remainder of their lives.

John died in 1899 and Agnes died on 28 January 1907, they are buried together in the Tapanui Cemetery.
