Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Mary Austin Graham was born about 1838, possibly in London. She married Hugh Fraser, a saddler, in New Zealand in 1861. They had five children.
Hugh died in 1885. When Mary signed the suffrage petition, she was living with her daughters in London St, Dunedin. Her daughter Margaret Helen Fraser also signed the petition.
Mary died of heart failure on 23 March 1900, after surgery. Margaret was present at the time.
Mary is buried with Hugh in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
