Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Frances/Fanny Ann Wyse was born about 1822, she married Alfred Garn, a tailor, in London in 1856.

They had a daughter before they emigrated to New Zealand about 1858 and settled in Dunedin.

Fanny and Alfred had a further four children, two of who died in infancy before Alfred’s sudden death in 1881.

When Fanny signed the suffrage petition she was living with her daughter (See 83 Emma Williams) in Union Street.

Fanny died on 2 July 1905 at her daughter Augusta’s home in Dunedin. (See 54 G Garn)

She is buried with Alfred in the Northern Cemetery.
