Jane Miller McNair was born in 1872 in New Zealand, the daughter of Hugh McNair, a cooper, and Ann Shearer Miller.
When Jane signed the suffrage petition, she was living with her family in York Place, Dunedin. Her mother Ann and sister Grace also signed the petition.
Jane married Frederick Archibald Fulton, a timber salesman, in 1894 and they had three sons.
Jane died on 21 November 1949 and Frederick died in 1950. They were both cremated and their ashes scattered.
