Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Rebecca Miller was born in 1843 in London, England – the daughter of George Miller, a carpenter, and Mary Ling.
She emigrated to New Zealand in the late 1850’s with her family and settled in Dunedin.
Rebecca had two daughters in the 1860s with William Millichamp, a sawmaker, before she married William in 1874.
William died suddenly in 1885 and when Rebecca signed the suffrage petition she was living in Dowling St, Dunedin either near or with her daughter Alice.
Her sister Emma also signed the petition (See 173 Emma Hogg)
She died on 5 September 1907 and is, presumably, buried with William in the Northern Cemetery.
