Elizabeth Jones Wynn was born about 1856 in England.
She arrived in New Zealand in the mid 1860s and she married John Quick Mitchell, a miner, in 1876.
They had 10 children, one who died in childhood, and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Blue Spur near Lawrence.
They retired to Dunedin where Elizabeth died on 7 December 1921.
John died in 1924, they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
