Louisa Marshall Sarney was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1872 – the daughter of William Henry Sarney, a smith, and Hannah Marshall. (See 30 H M Sarney)
She emigrated to Otago with her family in 1874 on the Tweed and they settled in Dunedin.
When Louisa signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cumberland Street.
She did not marry and she died at her home in North East Valley on 21 April 1938.
She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
