Marion Mayer was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of Thomas Mayer, a draper, and Eliza Ann Rippon.
She married Harry Minmill, a widower with one child and a draper, on 5 March 1890 at her mother’s home in Dunedin.
They had three children and when Marion signed the suffrage petition were living in George Street.
The family lived in Lawrence where Marion died on 28 March 1913.
Harry re-married the following year, he died in 1924. They are buried together in the Lawrence Cemetery.
