Some other reports from PapersPast:

Thomas accepted and sworn in at camp.  Also an interesting read of how the men reacted who weren’t accepted that day

The send off arrangements for the Rough Riders

Report of him and others returning

A good account of the first annual reunion of the Third [Rough Riders] Contingent held in 1904 which Kelcher attended.

The second reunion held after personal invitation by Geo. G Stead, treasurer of the Canterbury War Fund Committee to be given by him.
