Biographical information provided by Linda McGregor for the He Tohu exhibition:

Agnes Ledingham was born in 1874 to Ann and John Ledingham of Sowburn (later called Patearoa). She married Joseph Frederick Thurlow, the third son of John Thurlow of St Bathans, on 23 August 1893 at the home of her parents. They lived in Patearoa near Ranfurly for their whole lives.

Joseph and Agnes had seven children: Susan in 1893, Agnes Annie in 1895, Frank Ledingham in 1898, Albert Thomas in 1900, William John, Hazel Ailsa in 1913 and Arthur Robert.

Agnes was widowed in November 1946, and died on 15 September 1950, aged 77. She is buried at Ranfurly Cemetery with her husband Joseph.

Interestingly, there is another Agnes Ledingham from Otago recorded on Sheet 121 of the Petition
