Amelia Mepsted was born about 1829.
She married Henry Brundell, a French polisher, in 1854 in London. They had four children before they emigrated to Otago in 1860 on the Chile.
The family settled in Dunedin and had a further three children.
When she signed the suffrage petition Amelia was living with her family in Castle St.
Henry died in 1887. Amelia died on 11 October 1895. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
