Amelia Grant was born about 1833.

She had a daughter in New Zealand in 1866 (see 341 Mary Goomes), before she married George Tomlinson, a storekeeper, in 1870.

When Amelia signed the suffrage petition they were living in Bluff.

George died in 1903 and Amelia died on 22 July 1909 at her home in Campbelltown near Bluff, they are buried together in the St Johns Cemetery, Invercargill.
