Biographical information provided by Hannah Benbow, Alexander Turnbull Library, for the He Tohu exhibition:

Amelia Mary 'Millie' Verry (nee Knight) was born in 1871 in Brentford near London. After emigrating to New Zealand, she married Thomas Verry in 1890. Amelia signed the petition alongside her husband’s cousin, Annie Verry. Amelia and Thomas do not appear to have had any children. They lived throughout the lower North Island, with Thomas working as a bootmaker. Amelia died in 1946 and is buried in Sanson with her husband.
