Annie Jane Beattie was born about 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Beattie and Mary Jane Clegg.

She married Benjamin Iggo in 1893 and was living in Bluff when she signed the suffrage petition.

They had three children and lived in Palmerston in the early 1900s before moving to Dunedin.

Benjamin died at their home in 1920 and Annie died on 8 February 1954, they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
