Ann Murdoch was born in 1864 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Murdoch, a stonemason, and Helen Farquhar. (See 49 Helen Murdoch)

When Annie signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother and siblings in Hanover St, Dunedin.

She did not marry and she died on 24 October 1940, she is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
