Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Annie Willis Nichol was born in 1871 in Greymouth – the daughter of George Willis, a salesman and merchant, and Mary Emma Campion. (See 341 Mary Nichol)

Her family moved to Southland when she was young and she grew up at the family home 'Glenfoyle' at Ocean Beach near Bluff.

Annie signed the suffrage petition at Bluff – she died on 30 January 1924 when she was struck by a car while cycling.

She is buried in the family grave in the Bluff Cemetery.
