Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Barbara Annie Armstrong was born about 1853 in Scotland.

She came to New Zealand about 1875 and she married Charles Jones Johnson, a draper, in Dunedin on 23 November 1891.

They do not appear to have had any children and when Barbara signed the suffrage petition they were living in Brown St, Dunedin.

Charles died in 1924, he is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.

Barbara moved to the North Island and she died in Auckland on 25 November 1930, she is buried in the Hillsborough Cemetery.
