Isabella/Bella Fleet/Flett was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Fleet, a labourer, and Elizabeth Turnbull.
Bella spent her early years in Waitahuna before moving to Dunedin with her family in the 1880s.
When Bella signed the suffrage petition she was living in London St, Dunedin working as a servant.
Two of her sisters also signed the petition (See 54 J Fleet and 54 A Fleet)
Isabella did not marry and she died at the age of 83 on 3 July 1949. She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
