Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Bethia Miller was born about 1844 in Scotland.
She came to New Zealand where she married Alexander Campbell in 1864.
They had a son in 1866 and Alexander appears to have died sometime after this.
In 1874 Bethia gave birth to a daughter and, in 1880, she married stonemason William Mill.
That same year Bethia’s son died.
When Bethia signed the suffrage petition they were living in Alexandra St, Caversham.
Bethia died at her home on 18 August 1918 and William died in 1931 – they are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
