Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Annie Elizabeth Le Brun was born about 1868, possibly in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Joseph Le Brun, a lighterman, and Jane Esther Marrett.

She married Edward Turlton Buddicom, a cab driver, in 1888 and they had eight children, one who died in infancy.

Annie signed the suffrage petition in Duncan St, South Dunedin although the Otago Nominal Index shows her living in Graham Street.

Annie died at her daughter’s home in St Kilda on 7 February 1943 and Edward died later that year in December – they are buried together in the Southern Cemetery.
