Christina McAskill was born about 1849 in Barvas, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland – the daughter of John McAskill, a crofter, and Mary Martin.

She emigrated to New Zealand in 1887 with her sister Catherine (See 151 Catherine Dodd) on the Kaikoura.

When she signed the suffrage petition Christina was living in Leith St, Dunedin.

She died at her sister Catherine’s home on 18 July 1926 and is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
