Christina Christie was born in 1860 in New Zealand – the daughter of David Christie, a rabbiter, and Jane Reid.
She married Thomas Ness, a fellmonger, on 25 April 1883 in Dunedin.
They had five children and when Christina signed the suffrage petition they were living in David St, Kaikorai.
Thomas died in 1933 and Christina died on 17 January 1950 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
