Elizabeth Charlotte Cumberbeach was born about 1868.

She married James Currie Elliot, a carter, in New Zealand in 1887.

They had eight children, one who died in infancy, and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cumberland St, Dunedin.

They later lived in Woodlands, Lower Hutt Otaki and Kaponga where Elizabeth died on 26 October 1915 – she is buried in the Hawera Cemetery.

James died in the Wanganui Hospital in 1926 – he is buried in the Aramoho Cemetery, Wanganui.
