Biographical information provided by Helen Smith for the He Tohu exhibition:

Elizabeth Taylor was born c1852 and grew up in Australia. She married Scottish-born Alexander Cameron in 1868 in Victoria, Australia. Alexander and Elizabeth immigrated to New Zealand and had children here, including Catherine (1869-1955), Angus (1869-), Marion (1873-1959) and Duncan Alexander (1879-1901). Alexander died in 1880 and Elizabeth married Thomas Henry Erridge, a fishmonger, in 1888. They lived in Dunedin and had no children together. Thomas died in 1915. Elizabeth moved to Leith St, then Maia, Ravensbourne, and died 25 August 1940, aged 88 years. She is buried at Northern Cemetery, Dunedin with her first husband, daughter and son.
