Eliza Jane Nimmo was born in 1865 in Dunedin – the daughter of Robert Nimmo, a seed merchant, and Euphemia Henderson Wilson. (See 175 Euphemia Nimmo)
When Eliza signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother in Carisbrook, Dunedin working as a public school teacher.
She married David Hunter Rogers, an accountant, in 1894 and they had two children.
David died in 1933 and Eliza died on 1 June 1946, they were both cremated and their ashes scattered.
