Evelyn Rose Antoinette Schott was born in 1863 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of James Arthur Schott, a professor of music, and Caroline Amelia Pitt.
Evelyn came to New Zealand with her family where she married, chemist, Alexander Bagley on 4 August 1882 at her brother’s home in Dunedin.
They had seven children, one who died in infancy, and when Evelyn signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Main Rd, North East Valley.
Alexander died in 1933 – he is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
Evelyn died on 1 April 1952 – she was cremated & her ashes were scattered.
