Elizabeth Barclay was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Barclay, a labourer, and Christina Ireland. (See 81 C Barclay).

When she signed the suffrage petition Elizabeth was living with her family in Factory Rd, Mosgiel working in a factory.

Elizabeth did not marry and she died on 4 May 1950, she is buried with her brother in the East Taieri Cemetery.
