Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Elizabeth Clara Hoskins was born in 1868 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of Peter Arthur Hoskins and Martha Tredget.

She came to New Zealand with her family in the 1870’s and she married Joseph James Eustace, a tinsmith, on 8 June 1889 in Dunedin.

They had three children and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Union Street.

Joseph died in 1938 and Elizabeth died on 6 June 1959 – they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
